TEN STEPS TO A BETTER LIFE STEP 1
Getting Started- Goal: Preparing for the assignment and getting ready to choose a topic. Feelings: Don't be surprised if you feel like many people do as they get started--worried about the amount of work ahead of you and a bit unsure of yourself. You might even feel a little excitement, anticipating the project! Or maybe not. Hey wait a minute! Why should I care about how I'm feeling during this whole process? There's an old saying, "Misery loves company." If you know how other students feel as they go through the research and writing process and you feel about the same way, you'll know your project is right on track! Thoughts and Actions: Follow the steps below to get an idea of things you should be thinking about and doing, and some of the strategies which will help. Note the type of information search you should be doing at this stage.

Understand the Direction and Sequence Fields in the Flow Relationships- In the previous step, you were introduced to the Direction and Dir_txt fields in the NHD.Rflow table. Those two fields tell us how the water flows between transport reaches or that the relationship is a non-flowing connection along the coastline. Direction contains a 3-digit code and Dir_txt contains the English language equivalent of the 3-digit code. These fields can have six values:

We also learned that Sequence is used to describe the hydrologic sequence of reaches that touch the interior of other reaches. Sequence and Direction/Dir_txt are closely related. Each of the values for Direction/Dir_txt are discussed below along with their associated values for Sequence.
STEP 6
Axis Crossings- The points where the root locus intersects the imaginary axis indicate the values of K at which the closed loop system is marginally stable. The closed loop system will be unstable for any gain for which the locus is in the right half-plane of the complex plane. If the root locus crosses the imaginary axis from left to right at a point where K=K0 and then stays completely in the right half-plane, then the closed-loop system is unstable for all K>K0. Therefore, knowing the value of K0 is very useful. Some systems are particularly nasty when their locus dips back and forth across the imaginary axis. In these systems, increasing the root locus gain will cause the system to go unstable initially and then becomes stable again.

Partition the New Drive- Before you can use your new drive, it must be partitioned and formatted. At the A:\> prompt, after booting with your startup disk, type FDISK and press Enter. Answer Yes when asked if you want to enable large-disk support. On the following screen, choose option 5, Change current fixed disk drive. Then change current disk to 2, your new hard drive.On the next menu, choose option 1, Create DOS partition or Logical DOS Drive. Next, select option 1, Create primary DOS partition. FDISK will ask if you want to use the maximum size for the DOS partition; enter Yes to use the whole drive. When FDISK has finished, press Esc until you get back to the A:\> prompt, then restart your machine.
STEP 9
Start the ECXpert system and shut down the http installation server. When completed, the screen showed "ECXpert INSTALLATION IS COMPLETE" and stopped the installation of the http server. Modifications were made to the Netscape Enterprise obj.conf file as required and applied. Directories remaining under NS-apps were "ECXpert" and "navigator". No user or password was required to access the administration screen of ECXpert, and I am unable to turn ECXpert Administration Server on.
